BELOW THE FOLD IN A NUTSHELL
The term “Below the Fold” originates in the newspaper industry. It refers to the writing and pictures that appeared on the lower half of the standard broadsheet style newspaper. The top half was the most important information that was put out front to catch eyes at the newsstand, whereas the information displayed below the fold would not be immediately visible but was still important. In digital design, the fold is considered the boundaries of a standard browser window and the information below the fold would be everything that the user would have to scroll down to find.
